Congratulations to all graduates. Hope that you're all soaking this moment in because it's a big one. it's definitely a wonderful day to graduate. The college Gods say, Hey, I'm gonna make it a nice day for those students at MCC. It's amazing. It's sunny. Shout out to both of my grandads-- both of my grandads are watching me. I was just super excited. It's a great day to graduate. It's different, a lot different because it's not like your normal graduation. But it's the day we all get to celebrate it anyways. I am graduating with an RN. My name is Tawan Cooper and I'm graduating with an associate's and broadcasting technical and performance. I'm graduating with a regular associate's degree. Dontae Parsons-love. This is my baby, Morgan Savage. Honey, I can introduce myself. I'm graduating today with an associate's in the sciences and arts. My name is Chandra Robinson, and I'm graduating from the nursing program. I graduated with my associates this year in Arts and Sciences. I just finished my welding degree. I'm graduating all my associates in applied science and criminal justice. I'm graduating with an associates in Science and art. And I'm graduating today from the RN program. Casey Rose Vanheisen. And so where are you going from here? Well, right now, I'm working in the sign business but I got on automotive degree. So who knows? Grand Valley State University? Yeah. Next I plan on getting my bachelor's and then eventually becoming a nurse practitioner. Going to GVSU next. Keep getting the diplomas. My plan is to work here at Trinity Health. My plans are just to work and earn that money. What's next is my baby here. We're gonna transfer to Grand Valley, we're gonna do our thing out there, we're gonna come back with two more degrees. And you know, that's just how it's gonna go man. This is how it's gonna go. Michigan State University, next year, I'm going to major in graphic design. Going so Grand Valley-- I'm not sure what I wanted to be when I grew up actually-- Just a nurse somewhere helping out. Start my Bachelor's, you know, hopefully my masters and doctorates keep going. That's the plan. Transferring to Florida State. Always wanted to do something in the medical field. I kind of want to be a professor. Dorothy Lajean Hathorn. A big deal. I'm the first in my family to graduate from college. I'm a first-generation graduate. So it's a really big deal. It's a win for all of us. Definitely gotta find something to motivate you to keep you going. Probably been about a five year journey. I started in 2020. So it was kind of weird starting college, in a pandemic, and only seeing people through screens. It was a lot of work, it's definitely worth putting in all the work and going through it even though it is rough. Just keep pushing, keep praying. And as long as you have a support system, you'll get through it. First God, like to thank the man above because without him, we wouldn't be anywhere where we are now. And I'm just happy that all my family's here. I started and stopped. I did it in 2017. And then I finished this year 2022. Find those people who are there to make sure you've crossed the finish line. I think it's a culmination of these past couple of years and the work that I've put into the school and to myself. I've learned that the guy who goes to school always gets the better end of the stick, you know, he gets to cut the line This day means a lot to me, I got the love of my life up here-- my best friends, who are with me everyday. Just keep going. I mean, there's no reason to not so just keep going. Two years went by pretty fast. Just keep working. It's gonna pay out and you'll be successful. I got to learn a lot from here. I always felt like the right choice. I was close to home. It’s been a good two years here. I'm glad I did it. That was a pretty fun journey. We have a child. I'm telling you we got to show her, you know, it's possible she has to do it too.
